Plastic Beach werd voornamelijk geproduceerd door DamoN Albarn , en op het album staan onder andere gastopnames van Snoop Dogg, De La Soul, Lou reed, en Mos Def. Op het album staat uiteraard de hit On Melancholy Hill.
